Obituary - Mr William Penistone

The death occurred suddenly this morning in the timber yard of Messrs C E Daniell Ltd, Masterton, of Mr William Penistone, a well-known resident of the town. Mr Penistone collapsed while working in the yards at about 11.30 am. An inquest will be held.

The late Mr Penistone, who was born in Sheffield, England, came to New Zealand about 36 years ago and since then had resided in Masterton, except for three years in Levin a few years ago. He was a builder by occupation and was clerk of works fo the Wairarapa College building and also for school buildings in Levin.  For some years he served St Matthew's Parish as a member of the vestry and he was also a member of the Park Bowling Club.

A widow, a son, Mr J R Penistone, and a daughter, Miss M Penistone, of Masterton, are left to mourn their loss.
