Archbishop David Moxon is asking parishes to support the Alcohol Action NZ conference at Te Papa, Wellington - The Politics of Alcohol: Imagine New Zealand without alcohol damage, following commitment to this type of initiative at General Synod 2010.

He continues:

We consider this to be arguably the most important alcohol conference of the year given the impending final response of the Government on alcohol law reform for this electoral cycle. And as you can see in the attached flyer, there is an impressive line up of international and national speakers, a strong parallel being drawn between tobacco law reform and alcohol, and four MPs participating in a final session of the day, representing the four main political parties. The sliding scale registration fee from $30 for unwaged (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided) is very reasonable as well.
